           & Character Creation Tips

Here are some Helpful tips for you to make your own projects. You can purchase a Monster Head Blank through are Shop.

The Monster Head Blank offers (Photo 2)

a wealth of different options for you to create from. Giving a pre formed base (Photo 3) which you can sculpt straight onto using Latex and cotton wool as we have done in the example shown. It comes pre foamed which you can alter in any way you please, turning it in a Mask, or a Prostestic.

Start sculpting by soaking some cotton wool in Latex. Then apply the Latex soaked cotton wool to the Head blank (Photo 4,5,6) by adding more Latex with a brush to the soaked cotton wool, makes sculpting and shaping the cotton wool into a form much easier and into an apperance you are happy with.

By building up layers of Latex soaked cotton wool to create height and detail to the Monster Head blank you can acheive the character of the piece. (see Drying method below) (Photo 7,8,9,10)

Using large pieces of cotton wool to form ears, by soaking them in Latex and then applying them to the Head blank, hand shaping them into place.

(Photo 8)  Drying to fix the shape into place use a Heat gun / Hairdryer to gently heat the latex so it will dry and hold shape. Use this process repetitively to layer and build up the latex cotton wool throughout your sculpting. We recommend using a Hairdyer instead for beginners as you can easily burn the latex with a Heatgun.

Once you are happy with you Monster Head Blank Sculpt, let it fully dry before the next stage of finishing the Character. Finish by adding Paint, Fur, Hair, Scales the choice is yours.  Be creative !

(PHOTO 11) For this example we decided to make a WereWolf Mask from the Monster Head Blank after shaping the detail using the Soaked cotton wool method above. The sculpt was flocked and fur was added. A Head fitting was added to the Mask making it easy to wear. Then the WereWolf Mask was painted using an airbrush and eye holes and air holes were made in the foam filling for easy breathing and seeing.

Using a simliar Cotton Wool method to the one above we create corpes.
